The Pillows, 2004, photographs, 40 x 50 cm.
The photographs of Aline Biasutto offer many different portraits. Defects and imperfections of models, deeply humans and carnal until within the photographic material are everywhere ethereal faces, closer to the icon than the lively model. Romantic dreamers, gisants, mutants, living-dead, who grasp the eye and immerse us in a virtual reality. With a color palette and rendering painterly materials, clean lines near drawing, Aline Biasutto built images inspired by a vocabulary that borrows as much from religious mystic than from iconography from fantasy film.
